The Barbie Collector I Love Lucy series continues with its 15th edition, and its first-ever solo Ricky Ricardo doll. Ricky is dressed as Santa Claus from "The Christmas Show," also known as "Jingle Bells" or "The Lost Episode," which originally aired on television on December 24, 1956. This unique show featured flashbacks to scenes from favorite previous shows interspersed with new footage including a hilarious scene where Fred, Ethel, Lucy and Ricky all dress up as Santa Claus to surprise Little Ricky. Turns out, the surprise is on them, as the real Santa actually shows up!

If you're a collector of the "Barbie as I Love Lucy" dolls (like we are) then I guess you have to have this one, but I would rather they hadn't done it. It doesn't look like Ricky (or Ken, for that matter), is sloppy in costume fit and proportion, and is basically just an ordinary plastic doll in a Santa suit. If you can get it for $20 from WalMart and feel like you have to have the whole collection, that's fine. But if you discover it too late and have to get it at some inflated price from a "collector" site, don't bother. It adds nothing to your display and (IMO) little to the value of your collection.

I must admit I was a bit disapointed re the Santa Ricki doll.I may have expected too much having obtained the Lucy Santa doll last year,The face on Ricki looks amature in appearance not like the pretty face on the Lucy one. I will keep it and hope that it retains its value etc. I am most happy with the Walmart ordering process and happy with my other three items ordered. I think Matell may have produced too many of these dolls and not given them the full attention to detail they are used to. CAS

This is a wonderful collectible item. The doll truly resembles Desi Arnez.
However, much care must be taken when shipping the dolls. Especially when the collectible dolls are stocked in stores. Many times the boxes are crushed. When one is a collector, the box is as important as the doll.

The box has a couple dents or scratches, which will make it worth less (as a collector value). The box is not as bad as the last one I bought site to store. I had to exchange that one. Especially on "collectibles" like Barbie, I would like to see the boxes in excellent condition. I love the site-to-store service and the free shipping.

I collect all the I Love Lucy dolls my Mattel. This is a real gem. It is the first Ricky by himself, and it goes with the rare Christmas episode. It is going on the internet for $60.00-$160.00.
