After doing much research and getting opinions from everyone and their mothers!, My husband and I decided to get the elite diaper genie. We have been using it for 2 weeks now and it is one of the best products we've purchased or received for our nursery!!! I have a 2 week old and we are emptying out the genie about every 3 days. When your up in the middle of the night changing diapers and need 4 hands, its nice to be able to use your foot to open the container and just toss the diaper away! Friends have told me just to take the diaper out each time, but I for one value every minute with my child and this makes changing diapers a breeze!

works very well and is easy to use. my 1 1/2 year old loves to throw away his diapers now and wants to take out the bag when it is full :) I have never had a diaper pail before-always used a trash can with lid because I heard mixed things about pails. this works well and is worth the cost

This is probably one of the best gifts I got from my baby shower.
My friend had the original Diaper Genie through both of her kids and swore by it. I never understood what the big fuss was until I had my own child.
I received it as a gift, thinking it was nothing more than a fancy diaper pail. After a month of use I finally decided that this was more than just a regular diaper pail.
I have encountered some pretty rough diapers in my days as a new mommy and I have a regular diaper pail in my room (where the baby sleeps) and the diaper genie in the nursery. I can tell a huge difference in smell. The diaper genie holds in the odor. Not to mention no messy clean-up where little bit leak out the sides.
It has already withstood me knocking it over accidentally a couple times. It was very easy to set-up, has has done a better job than I ever expected it to.
I love this product!

Bought this product. I never had the Diaper Genie so I can't compare to the original. However, I did have a competitors diaper pail that had the step for opening the lid. Competitor changed the bags and the product stopped containing the smell. This diaper Genie II completely contains the smell. It also is nice because my little one can't lift the lid and stick his hands/toys in as he could with the prior pail/competitors model. It's convenient for me and the child proof blade to allow me to easily change bags is great! No more looking for scissors. The only thing I do wish is the opening was bigger so that the diapers that are really full didn't get stuck in the opening where the refills sit. I then have to physically push them down a bit and that is gross. Overall great improvement. None of them are perfect but this could be if it had a little bigger opening at the top.

Love it!! I had a basic Costco Diaper Pail and the room smelled horrible for hours after I opened it. So I decided to shell out a little bit for this one. Once I got the set up down its pretty simple. The plastic isn't really top grade but for the price I thinks its worth it. It does help the smell. I don't smell anything anymore it really does hold in the odor. Even when emptying it, its pretty easy and simple.

A friend strongly recommended the Diaper Genie to us when she heard I was pregnant, and it took us a month after my daughter was born for us to get one. I don't want to have to be without it again! The height is great (especially since I have back problems and it's usually just enough for me to be leaning over to change my girl), and it's great that I can step on the pedal to open it for diaper disposal. The bags are amazing at odor control, which is unbelievably handy since it's kept in our bedroom. It's a cinch to empty, though I was worried the bag might tear while I carried it to our outdoor trash can (I was holding it by the bit above the knot). Set-up was fairly easy, but we did have to read the directions a few times to clearly understand them and get it right. (It still only took us about 5 minutes to have it ready to go.)

The diaper genie ii elite is great! unlike the previous diaper genies you don't have to "push" the daiper down. a true one hand operation diaper pail. step and drop, that's all there is to it. no smells so far but i have only been using it for two weeks. it also looks a lot better than other diaper pails. if you are debating the purchase of this diaper pail because of bad reviews about previous diaper genie products...just buy it, i highly recommend it. the elite is playtex's answer to all the problems the with the regular elite ii.

My husband and I were getting sick of the original DG. We went with this one over the regular DGII because of the antimicrobial plastic that's supposed to really help with the smell, the ease of use, and another reviewer somewhere that said it held more diapers than the DGII. Overall I really like it! It is SO much easier to use than the DG and really seems to be doing well to contain the smell. Even when I push the pedal down to dump in a diaper, I don't smell anything. Or when I open it to empty it. Very impressed with that! I like the easier way of cutting the bags and I like that the diapers end up in one bag instead of a line of sausages. The only thing is that in order to make maximum use of the space in it, I have to pull the bag out once the diapers are difficult to get in so that the diapers already in there kind of settle to the side, therefore leaving more room for more diapers. However, that is much more convenient than having to empty it that often and take a garbage bag down the street to our dumpster. Very happy with my purchase so far!

I had the diaper champ before this one and thought it would save me money and work pretty well. Well, after 1 month it stopped working and we used it as a pail. But I have this one for over a month now and it's awesome!!! No smell, easy to emty and refill and very compact! I would recommend this to a friend!
