I've owned many of these watches in the past twenty plus years...its the watch of preference for me back during my Army days, when sweating and working out were daily routines. Its a good solid watch, and reliable and dependable...or used to be.
My son bought this watch for me this year, and its good in water depths up to 100 meters...says it right on the face. I went in the hot tub at a hotel tonight...looked at my watch but thought "Hmm I'm not even going to have it submerged more than ONE meter..." and left the watch on. Big. Mistake.
Within five minutes, the watch's indiglo light came on (and is still on, almost twelve hours later) and it showed the CHRONO screen with everything at zero. No way is it able to let me reset it. I've tried everything short of unscrewing the back and removing the batteries.
I WOULD recommend this watch, just not to be used in a hot tub. Pools themselves are fine. Really though, if it was going to freak out in a hot tub, a warning might have been nice prior to the event.

I've bought Timex watches for years because they are great quality, dependable and last for years. Excellent product - so far, the woven watchband with man-made materials is a perfectly acceptable alternative to the previously used leather. And it is also superior to a solid plastic band on a similar watch that I previously purchased (more flexible; breathes better). I think that Timex could somehow revise these watches so that they have a more feminine look (colors; also, it has a rugged look, and could soften the features). In some ways, it still looks like a mini version of a man's watch. But in the meantime, I would still buy it again.
