I have a similar item by the same manufacturer, purchased several years ago. I expected this to be the same. Only difference was the size bed that it would fit. Would have been helpful to know - "this item fits single, double, queen size beds" etc. rather than just the dimensions in inches.

i bought this for my wife that had a stroke in 2010 and has had trouble getting in and out of bed. i pulled a muscle in my back, this rail has been a blessing for me and my wife, now she can get in or out of bed with no or little help at all.

I had no problem with the assembly, pictures showed how parts were intended to fit together. It was too high for the bed, so I took advice from other reviews and turned lower legs around to make height perfect.

Bought this bed rail for my 88yr. old Mom. One side of bed against wall with a grab bar mounted to wall,needed a supportive rail on opposite side to aid her in getting in and out of bed. This bed rail is GREAT. Good price,easy to put together and install. Has made it much easier for her to get in and out of bed. Adjustable in height and placement along bed mattress. Sturdy.

Pictures in instructions unclear. I would suggest numbering parts and giving written instructions .
IE: Join #1 and #2 -etc.

Bought this for my 89 year old dad who was having difficulty getting up out of bed. We ended up turning the bottom leg sections upside down (pulled them out of the "u" shaped upright bar, took the rubber feet off and inserted them back into the "u" shaped upright bar 'end for end' and then put the rubber caps back on). In doing so, the unit would 'ratchet' high enough to fit his bed. If you used common sense, putting the unit together was not a problem. The enclosed instructions were, however, of little help. The rubberized bar provides for a good grip in which to pull yourself up to a sitting position. The nylon strap that attaches to the opposite side of the bed frame and the feet make this bed rail unbelievably sturdy. It is narrow enough that, when placed towards the head of the bed, allows for plenty of space to swing your legs to the side of the bed for easy exit. This bed rails met and exceeded the needs of my dad and I would highly recommend it for someone who needed assistance in getting out of bed.

I got this because my 86 yr old mom would throw herself at the bed and sometimes miss or bounce off so I thought something to hold onto would help. It turns out it helps not as a grip but because of its presence she is more careful and now sits down. The parts fit very snugly and it is difficult to put together. Also the adjustable leg parts that touch the floor at first could not be adjusted down enough because the adjustment holes were too high but I figured out to pull them off and reverse them and then it worked just fine. If you are older or weaker be sure you have a strong young person around to put this together for you because it is difficult.

It was easy to put together and really makes my father's life easier getting in and out of bed. It also protects his head if he starts to roll out of bed; and actually has kept him from rolling off the bed.
You can not feel the bars that slide between the mattress and box springs. Will purchase another one when the time comes that my mother needs one on her side of the bed.

Great Value Strong Product. It is a little higher than it should be and raises the mattress a bit but will help her so that she won't easily roll out of bed. I could have adjusted it a bit more but felt this level was just fine for our use. This product was twice as expensive everywhere I looked, same make and model. Thanks WalMart for a product I can afford.

I installed this for my father's bed. I am suprised as the the stability, ease of assembly sturdiness. No tools were needed for assembly, and it took me about 10-15 minutes to assemble it and slide it underneath his mattress. It was a little hard to look at the picture, and assemble each post or leg where it belongs, but eventually I figured it out. It is a huge help for my dad. Other stores had this same item for $15-30 more than Walmart.

I purchased two of these rails - one for each side of the bed and connected them together with the 'under mattress' tubing. This made it VERY strong & stable & was just the thing my dtr. needed to assist her with turning over in bed.
