This receiver from pioneer is good. I am using it for my home theater and I have no complaints. I have my Directv receiver, Blue ray DVD player and home theater projector hooked up to the pioneer receiver and everything is working great!

I ordered this product online and had ship to store. It cost about $80 dollars more on other sites so i saved a good chuck of money. The receiver is great, has a ton of features for the money, the remote is great, but there are a few minor shortcomings overall. Again, given the price i believe you get a lot for the money, but do your homework before you buy a surround sound receiver if you do not understand how all the audio and video hookups work. The manual does a decent job explaining everything but it is confusing trying to understand exactly how you can use the hdmi passthrough connections. Also the universal remote lacks some products it can be setup for, for example i cannot program it to control my Polaroid Flatscreen. Heres what i did and i love the sound and video: From Dvd Player - i hooked an HDMI directly to my tv and a Digital Audio Cable to the Receiver. From my DVR - i hooked Component Video & Audio to my TV and hooked an Optical Audio Cable to the Receiver. This gives true surround from both DVR & DVD players through the receiver, so it took me a few days and tries to get it right, and i spent about $65 bucks on cables i didnt have. All in all, the receiver is great, i would definitely recommend it.

Product has a great sound. However the Operating Instruction Manual has much to be desired. First it's written on cheap paper, second the print size is exstreamly small,ie, like I could'nt see without a magnifying glass. Third, the overall size of the manual is is too small. It was hard enough trying to understand all the new terminology but throw in the fact you can hardly see the print, it made for a difficult set-up. Keep in mind I am 72 years old and wear tri-focals. Love my wide screen and surround sound.

I purchased this receiver for my husband. It took a bit to set it up with our 42" Plasma and 3 speaker Wave Bose System. The instructions were a little difficult to understand, even for my husband which already has a Sony 5.1 receiver and theatre system in our den. He has enjoyed this product already. We almost returned it and purchased another Sony Home Theatre System the weekend of Thanksgiving, but the guys at Best Buy told him that this was better and the sound quality and output was much greater on the Pioneer. We would recommend this product to just about anyone.

Problems with HDMI pass-through,

Everything was great except one thing that was a deal-breaker for me. I was trying to pass-through HDMI to use the amplifier as a hub between my blu-ray player and dish network and my projector on the ceiling. It didn't work. The HDMI had problems with the HDCP handshake. I returned this product and bought a Sony. The Sony works perfectly.

Reciever offers many features which is good, But trying to hook up my HDTV and bluray disc player to play audio and video through a HDMI connection was somewhat difficult and frustrating! I would purchase this product again, for the money, very good buy.

This product is worth the investment. I purchased it to replace another PIONEER Receiver. It works great and has the full function of hdmi, and hd systems. It is not posted on the system info on wal-mart.com. But this product is top notch for your needs, 5.1-Channel surround with HD hook ups. Would recommend to anyone time and time again.

This is a great addition to a home audio system. The XM/Sirius ready tuner was easy to setup, much more so with the onscreen display. You can use a spare television or put it up on the main screen. As with any surround system setup is involved. Satellite ready receiver/amps are fairly narrow in selection at around the $200 mark. Balancing the system involve either trusting the extermal microphone that is included or setting levels up or down at each speaker or dimension. Be sure to leave the top of the device well ventilated as there is no cooling fan. A fan addon would be simple to add , but then there is the noise factor. I like Pioneer products and their parts and customer service is excellent.
