this is by far my best Pioneer product I have purchased. If you read the instructions first that will help. Remote has alot of buttons and will take some time to get use to, but overall great item.

This unit is well suited for the small home theater. Very simple to set up with a nice array of connections including HDMI in/out. The mic driven speaker callibration was an unexpected high end feature. Some could complain that it is not 7.1 but my situation didn't require it.

I purchased this online and picked it up in the site to store location. Best Buy had the same exact thing for more money. We are very pleased with this. Still figuring some of the things out. There is quite a bit of options on this receiver. Sound is great.

Purchased at Walmart with ship-to-store pickup. It was there 2 days after I ordered it and $83 dollars less than BestBuy! The receiver sounds great now but you must read the manual and anything else about it that's out there. You need to do the auto-setup (mcacc) first and then you can tweak it as you see fit. You can adjust the volume of each speaker with the remote including the subwoofer. Maybe a bit complicated at first but once you "get" it you will be happy you got it. Looks great too!!

Easy installation. Works great with existing speakers, cd player, cassette player/reccorder. I looked at different receivers and this was by far the best buy. I connected it and was using it the first day. I am very pleased and would recommend it to anyone.

The Pioneer 5.1-Channel Surround Sound Receiver is a great value! Automatically adjusts speaker levels to your room. It is easy to set up and can be modified to individual systems. It has a pretty good amount of inputs, but could easily use another HDMI. Great value none the less. Sound is exceptional!

The product arrived on schedule within 7 business days. The unit is well appointed with multiple HDMI channel inputs and outputs for a home theater. The unit has the multifunction DVD, DVR, TV, FM, AUX buttons are well located. Audio signal response is superior. With a well appointed remote control, the unit is a good buy for the price.

This is an excellent sounding receiver at a great price. You definitely have to read the manual, but this is easy to hook up and set up. The HDMI switching is incredible. With a Blu-ray and HD-DVR hooked up, I only needed 3 cables to hook it all up. The auto setup feature using the included microphone optimizes surround sound for the room. The Ipod connection is great also. You control your Ipod with the remote. The negatives of this product are the remote is too busy, the onscreen menu is antiquated and it is difficult to manually equalize audio.

This receiver met every need that I had in setting up my home theater. Plenty of inputs (2 HDMI), room equalizer worked perfectly (this surprised me) was much cheaper at walmart than Bestbuy.
I only gave it four stars because the next model up offers a few more features but none that I could have used. Plus I don't like giving 5 stars.

this is an amazing receiver and iw ould recommend it to everyone. The only issue i had with it was that it was alot more up-to-date than my old receiver so it took some getting used to and a little while to set up properly and the way i wanted it. Other than that the sound is amazing with more than enough power. i have all pioneer speakers and i dont really like the pioneer elite series receivers and this by far meets my needs and is just amazing system. This receiver is sure not to let you down

I RECOMMEND IT TO THE FULLEST.. I HAVE A HOME THEATER SYSTEM AND LET ME TELL YOU THAT THIS UNIT ROCKS!!! YOU DON'T NEED ANY ADDITIONAL CABLES JUST YOUR HDMI INPUTS AND THAT'S WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR... ALTHOUGH I WANTED A 7.1 I GOT THIS 5.1 AND IT JUST ROCKS I'M NOT DISAPPOINTED ONE BIT... ALL MY SPEAKERS ARE POLK TOWERS, A CENTER POLK, 10" SUB POLK AND TWO BOOKSHELVES POLK... ALL i CAN SAY IS THAT IS TOTALLY WORTH EVERY PENNY UNLESS YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A ONKYO, YAMAHHA, HARMON ETC ETC... THIS UNIT DOES NOT ASK FOR NOTHING TO THOSE OTHER EXPENSIVE BRANDS.. NOTHING AT ALL.!!!
Pioneer has always made good audio products. Even with 600 watts it doesn't come close to the old 2 channel 100-200 watt receivers we had in the '60 and '70's which were REAL watts and real power. However, this unit does not disappoint. I used some inexpensive JVC surround speakers and it sounds very good in my medium sized living room. Clear and crisp. I think it would sound fantastic with some high-end speakers. This unit has lots of connections for audio and video so is very versatile and was easy to set up.

When the purchase was made we had no idea that the performance of the equipment was going to be so outstanding. There are many features and it does take patience to learn how to use all of the options available with this unit. It is well worth the time invested for the listening enjoyment you get in return.
