Scrabble Upwords

If you like Scrabble, just wait till you try this game. It is easy for beginners to learn and a family favorite. Just think, instead of being stuck with the word someone else just played and trying to make a word with your letters you can stack on to the word and with the change of a letter or two make and entirely new one. It's been some of the best fun our multigenerational family has had in years. We love this game.

Scrabble Upwords, originally Upwords was a hit with our family when I was a junior higher. It didn't seem like a child's game but yet it is so perfect for challenging young minds to develop words as soon as they can grasp it. It's design is much easier for children to handle without fear of messing up all the tiles when someone bumps the board (as with the original Scrabble game.)
Now that I have a houseful of my own school aged kids, I remembered how helpful it could be. I was extremely disappointed to find almost no one carried it. Many of the "classic" games I grew up with were gone but the shelves are full of goofy games that require no thinking at all. I was beginning to believe it had been discontinued.
Just last week, I found it at a Wal-Mart supercenter; not just any supercenter, but the biggest one located in the neighborhood with the highest income level in town. Is it worth driving the extra mile? It is if it will ensure getting it in time for Christmas. Otherwise, I can have it shipped free to my local store.

This is a great fun, family, friends game. Easier than SCRABBLE!!! We love it. Fun to play during the holidays.
