This camera was an exceptional value! I'm a private investigator and wanted a compact, light camera for work. I looked at a ton of cameras, and this one fit my needs perfectly - it's lightweight, compact, great resolution, awesome zoom, and it comes with a case and tape! I use the AV cable to download the video to my computer, and the software it came with works better than the other software I've bought in the past. Very user-friendly!

The Canon ZR900 fails to impress but provides satisfactory performance. Video looks ok. It's nice and small. A lot of distorted audio in windy conditions. It takes a minute to figure out the eject operation. It's mostly manual. Several hatches have to be closed. My other complaint is why didn't they just throw in the fire wire you need to get hooked up to your PC. I'm running mine thru a special Dazzle addapter. But overall, a decent little camera for the price.

I was looking for something cheap and lightweight and got to say not so bad. I use it for my baby and I love it. Very user-friendly and to the point!! I love the x-tra wire for viewing what you record on tv. So I would recommend this product.

Consumer Reports listed this as a "best buy" in a recent magazine and I couldn't agree more. Yes, the ZR-930 and -950 offer a few more things, but none of them were necessary. This camera is simple and straight-forward to use. It is user-friendly and produces great videos. Having shopped other options and brands, we couldn't be happier with this choice. The fact that a NICE carry case and video tape is included make this a real steal!

I bought this for my boyfriend as an xmas gift... he asked for a camcorder that uses the mini casettes. He really likes it and said I did a great job picking out a camcorder. He also liked the fact that it came with a bag. Would recommend this to others as a great camcorder at a great price.

I would have given this camcorder five stars on everything if it had not been for the camera noise the built-in mic picked up. I didn't expect that so thats why it only got two stars on 'Meets Expectations'. Otherwise it's a great little camcorder for the price. If you're going to use a remote mic (which you can) you won't hear the motor noise. One other thing that I thought could have been better is the location of the 'record' button. You use your right thumb to toggle the button, and that happens be the same spot your nose occupies when you're looking thru the view finder?!! If you use the screen to video that won't be a problem. It was a snap to load the video into my iMac. I burned it to a disk and it looked great on TV. So, if you're looking for a good, inexpensive little camcorder, that records in MiniDV (tape) format, this one will do the trick. FYI, the ZR930 model comes with a remote control, but I'm not sure if it has the remote mic feature like this ZR900.

I have never had a video camera before. I did all of the research, as I do with all products I shop for, and found this camera to be in my price range. A bounus to buying this camera is that it came with everything you need to get started, minis the fire wire to connect to the computer. Just a word of advice, don't spend $40 on the fire wire in the electronic stores. Order it right from Wal-mart.com. It cost me $11.22 with shipping!! It conected right to my Mac laptop and works great. I am currently in the process of burning my sons first christmas concert. This is a great buy for first time users on a budget.

There was not enough information on the description. I ordered this camcorder thinking it was one that recorded directly onto the mini DVD's since the box said MiniDV. When I opened the package, I realized it was a camcorder that records on the mini DV cassettes. Not what I wanted. I returned it immediately

Camera was recieved in excellent condition, no marks or damages to shipping container. Unit was well padded. Camera and accesories are exactly as pictured, no discrepencies. This camera is a great deal for the money. Bought it for my wife, who instantly fell in love with it. Very easy to use, well documented, and takes a very nice picture with good audio too. I would highly recommend this product to anyone thinking about starting out in video editing or recording.
