Fisher-Price Kid Tough Portable DVD Player, Blue

Received this item as a gift. Within one week, it no longer worked. Fischer Price allowed me to send the item back, free of charge, for a replacement. Oddly enough, instead of replacing it, they sent me a check for item. I think that says a lot about the expectations of the product. Obviously, I'll be using that check on a different dvd player. By the way, if you research this item, you'll find similar stories of this item not meeting expectations all over the Internet.

Do not waste your money on this DVD player! My mom bought this dvd player for my son at Christmas time....intended for use during a vaction in March. Well.... it's time to leave on vacation.....but before we head to the airport we need to stop at walmart. This DVD player needs to returned and exchanged for the third time before we even used it for it's intended purpose. We have had this specific one for only 2 weeks (never dropped and used on only 2 car trips) and now it doesn't even turn on. The picture on the screen was also very pixalated from the time we opened it. Very good idea for kids......too bad it doesn't work. I suggest buying a cheap portablr dvd player....I bought one 2 yrs ago for $50.00 and it still works....been dropped several times too. Worst product EVER!!!!!!!! Waste of $150.00!!!!!!!

This was purchased for our 4 year old son for christmas. The picture quality and volume control were great. We used it in the car, while shopping, at home, and even used it at church-he wore the headphones then. A fully charged battery will last one normal length movie. We always keep ours plugged in, in the house or in the car, so it will last while we are away from a power source. Unfortunately, the headphone jack is loose after a month and a half, so we cannot use them anymore. And it fell off his bed this week and does not work at all now. The light blinks to show it is charging, but the screen stays black. I also had problems with a movie playing about a month ago. It was a brand new dvd and it said ERROR and would not play. So, I put the scratched and fingerprinted one back in and it played fine. No it was not an enhanced DVD so it should have worked. I also liked that it played CD's. My son can't read yet, but he knows where his favorite songs were located and arrowed right to them. I would recommend this product if you have an extra careful child who would never mishandle it or pull on the cords.

I bought two of these, one for son and one for daughter. They love the fact that they do not have to share. Nice to travel with.

I was really glad I purchased the product for my grandson, he takes it everywhere we go. It is practical and I am sure he will get years of use out of it. The design is excellent the durability is exceptional.

Bought this for my son's third birthday. He loves it - he can operate it himself! He takes it everywhere. It's been a lifesaver in restaurants, during hair cuts (he HATES hair cuts), and long rides in the car. The picture is great - much better than I expected in a "toy". It also operates much better in the car than several other portable DVD players we've owned. It doesn's skip or cut out the way they did. Now if I could just find someplace that carries the case and a second rechargable battery........

My 4 year old son got this dvd player for christmas...he loves it! I on the other hand do not love it so much. The player does not open up enough to make it easy to put in the dvd nor does it come with the accessories required to really make it portable, you have to buy those separately. After only two weeks of use it stopped working. I too got the disk error message...BUT I got it to work again! Seems the laser inside slides back and forth and can be moved so the player won't play, by a child simply sliding it with their finger. I slid it all the way to the back of the unit, (it makes clicking noises as you do it) it WILL reset itself to the right position once you put in a dvd and close it. Dvd's will then play again, or at least ours did. I hope this helps those with the same problem. Overall not a bad product...kid proof? Not so much....

I was really excited to buy this product for my son, but as my son got a hold of it, it was easy for him to open and take out the DVD. This product in my opinion would be perfect if it wasn't so easy to open for little kids. Even with his favorite movie that he loves to watch he knows how to open it and is amazed to see the DVD go round and round. Other than that, I really love this product. It's very useful in keeping him busy, when I'm not trying to keep the cover closed.

Contrary to what several people have said, our son loves this product and it seems to be well built
