Great vacuum!

I love this vacuum cleaner. It is quite easy to maneuver and picks up an unbelievable amount of dirt. I couldn't believe how much dirt it picked up! I had read all the reviews and they were all quite favorable and I agree with what everyone says. It's a great vacuum and really does the job. In fact, I showed it to my friend and she was so impressed she went out the next day and bought one for herself! She loves it too!

Being the owner of a cleaning service for many years, I have used and purchased several different vacuums. The two big complaints I always had was trying to carry a heavy vacuum up a flight of stairs while trying to maneuver and vacuum at the same time, as well as having to constantly empty the dust cups in order to maintain suction. The Shark Navigator Lift-Away makes this job quick and easy, and the swivel action makes it even better. The dust cup is not a large one, but it never loses suction even when it is full. Having allergies to molds and dust, I love the easibility of emptying the dust cup with one push of a button. I would highly recommend this to everyone! I cannot attest to the durability as I have only had this a short while. But with a 5-year warranty, I already know it will outlast a lot of my previous vacuums.

Every bit as good as a Dyson

As a disclaimer, I've never used a dyson but I would imagine that this powerful vacuum could run circles around one! I couldn't believe how dirty my carpet was! I was thoroughly impressed with the suction power of this vacuum for a fraction of the cost of a Dyson. Why in the heavens would someone pay $500 for a dyson when the Shark Navigator Lift-Away is available! I'm very satisfied with this vacuum and how easy it is to maintain.

I bought this vac after doing a bit of research, and realizing that not all vacs are the same! I went for a bargain last year...and well, here I am, almost exactly one year later shopping again. I wanted a dyson, after many of my friends raved about it, but as a college student, just couldn't afford it. I do believe the shark will do an arguably equal job. This investment was well worth it! I have a beagle that sheds (ALOT) and this picked up far more hair than I thought was there. I will rest assured that this vac cleans my floors to my high standard.

I have had this vacuum now for two weeks, and it is my new best friend. It picks up extremely well, and the canister is easy to empty. The three in one features make it so useful; no need to struggle with the stairs anymore! I agree, the cord is too short, and I did have a problem with the pin in the canister slipping out, but these are minor issues. Buy one!

stick with your dyson

I bought this for my summer place. The cord is to short, the cup is not as handy as my dyson animal to empty or as large and the hose is not as flexiable as my dyson. Yes it is convienent for the stairs, but again the hose is short and stiff. All I can say as I can't wait to get back to my winter place to use my dyson, in fact I may be taking it back tomorrow for a refund after only one days use. If you already own a dyson or have in the past don't waste your money on this one invest back into a dyson.

I love my shark, but just a fair warning... if a hose breaks, or you need some other part, directly ordered from sharkclean.com, expect a 4 to 6 week wait or longer for the part. my hose broke on my motorized floor brush, and it's gonna take that long, they keep no stock on parts at all. I did not buy my vacuum from walmart, but the shark company itself.

When I received it, I installed it and have a try. It's light and easy to push. But the handle was so loose, when I pull it backward, it always fall off. I checked it carefully and found there's problem in the wand, it can not lock the handle. I called the customer service, they sent me a new wand and handle. Now everything is great, but I just doubt about its reliability. It is the first time I buy this kind of household appliance online, but hit the problem. If I bought it from the shop, I may have returned it.

This thing sucks up the hair and dirt like nothing......Great sucking power...Light weight ...I love everything about this vacuum...I would recommend to anyone with pets...Or just wants the best vacuum ....and the color LOVE IT!!!! what is there not to love!!! Finally a Vacuum that works on hardwood and carpet

As I was just vacuuming up the tiny pieces of styrafoam that my 3-year-old threw all over the floor, I thought, "I HAVE to write a review on this product." I have three children under the age of five and we eat all of our meals in our dining room with Pergo floors and an area rug. This vacuum easily gets all of the food out of the carpet and off the hard wood without needing to use the special attachments, although they work well too. I was so satisfied with this vacuum, that my mom immediately went out and bought one as well to replace her high dollar vacuum that she has never been satisfied with. She loves hers too. Finally a vacuum that works!

We have now had this vacuum for almost two months and just love it. The power is unreal. On carpet it really trys to pull you a little it has so much power. On hardwood floors you only use the suction and it does a beautiful job unless you have something that is hard to get up then you can use the suction and brush. when you are using the carpet brush and you put the handel in the upright position, the brush shuts off all by itself. Love that. I do not know what the big deal is about the power cord. The cord on the one I got is 24' long and that is plenty unless you have a really big house and want to do all the rooms downstairs and upstairs without unpluging the cord.This cord is as long and longer than some machines we have had. The liftaway is a great feature. I would reconmend this vacuum to anyone who want a great vacuum and a great price. I am 68 and have had a lot of vacuums in my life and this is the best yet. Buy one. You will not regreat it. We sure do not.

There is a very good reason it's rated so high

The reason this vacuum has so many great reviews is that it warrants it. I have had plenty of vacuums and have two uprights as well as one canister vac now but none of them have the versatility and power of this Shark. The power/suction absolutely surprised me for a vacuum of it's price range. The attachments are great and the quality appears very good. I considered the vacuums from Germany but this one out perfumed them hands down. I've always thought that bagged vacuums out performed bagless vacuums but this Shark has challenged that thought.
Look no further for you can purchase this vacuum with all assurance that you are getting the best vacuum for the money. I always thought of Shark products as cheap or of lesser quality but my purchase of this vac has changed my mind and altered my opinion. It's very well worth the money and even though most places that you can purchase it from allow returns if it doesn't meet your requirements or satisfaction I doubt that many will return it. Hands down, no doubts in my mind, this is the best all around vacuum I have purchased and I have no problem recommending it highly.
Remember when you see a lot of people consistently eating at a certain restaurant then generally you can believe that restaurant is very good. When you see this many very high ratings for product there is usually a reason and in this case that reason is that it earned those great ratings.

I purchased this vacum for my mom bcs it was rated very high and light weight. I does a very poor job of picking up any dirt and constantly gets clocgged. I would not recommend this product and only wish I could return it!

Pleasantly surprised

When I make purchases over $100, I read reviews, purchase the product the most stars and then am typically the person that can relate to the one or two that had a bad experience. Not this time (at least so far). We have had the vacuum for three weeks now, and I can say that it lives up to everything mentioned in reviews. Here are the things I like the best about the vacuum:
+ It is light. My kiddos have no problem hauling this thing around.
+ It is smaller than other vacuums, so it fits into tighter spaces.
+ It is super easy to detach the canister for stair cleaning (but, it is so small that we even used the full vacuum on our stairs, and it worked).
+ The suction truly is impressive. I would liken it to our shop vac, which I am careful not to use around things like towels and such because it will suck them up.
+ The attachments store nicely on the vacuum.
+ It is very easy to change from upright position.
+ The collection tank is very easy to empty and is designed well with both the top and the bottom able to open.
+ It is smaller than other vacuums, so it fits into tighter spaces.
+ It is super easy to detach the canister for stair cleaning (but, it is so small that we even used the full vacuum on our stairs, and it worked).

- The only reason I am not giving it five stars is that when I am using the floor brush of the vacuum and push down a little too hard (like I do when I put the vacuum upright), the brush occasionally stops spinning and I have to manually "start it up" again by rolling the brush a few times. This is very minor, considering how well the vacuum works.
